Nathan Tisdale and Joel Baker served in the Army of Tennessee during the War Between the States.  The Army of Tennessee was primarily comprised of units that fought west of the Appalachian Mountains.  The better publisized Army of Northern Virginia was led by General Robert E. Lee.
