16 May 2009 - Linda and I saluted the bikers riding from Los Angeles, CA to Washington, D.C. for the annual "Run for the Wall". These bikers honor our Vietnam War Veterans (all vets really) with this trip to the National Vietnam War Memorial. One of their overnight stops is in Odessa, Texas. When departing Odessa after the overnight there, they stopped at our local Vietnam War Memorial to raise the flag and lay a wreath. We stood in the Post Office parking lot near the memorial and saluted them as they went by then drove out on the interstate highway to a rest stop and waved them on again. Here are our pictures.
We didn't count them but there were hundreds of them. You can see it took a long time for the procession to pass by observing how much the weather changed in the pictures. Sure made me want to mount up and head east. |
