This is Rufus.  Everyone should have a special friend like Rufus at least once in their life.  I've been lucky to have several very good friends like Rufus but he was extraordinarily close to us even among the company of some very fine creatures like Sam, Sally and Inga.

Family holidays have always been a time for my wife and I to celebrate our good fortune and spend time with our loved ones.  Rufus was always a very big part of our lives during those times.   When I see this photo, one of my favorites, I can only think happy, happy, happy.

When Nolan (first grandson) came along Rufus was baffled by the "intruder" but quickly grew to enjoy his company.
