October 2008 - Linda and I visited Kate and WA in their new community, Greenbrier, AR. Woolly Hollow State Park is a mere 12 miles from their house so it's a great place to drop anchor, hook up the shore line and hang out when in the area. Here are a few pic's from our latest trip there. There are 6 miles of trails around Bennett Lake at Woolly Hollow that we enjoy hiking.
Bella crosses a foot bridge on our hike.
Bella hikes up the hill.
Bella rests during her strenuous climb.
Linda screens Bella's cell phone calls on the trail.
An unusual mushroom-like growth on a tree.
Kaden rests during our 6 mile hike around the lake. This was a hike he and I did while Katie and Linda were shopping.
Crossing the Arkansas River on the way to Toad Suck Park.
We did a scenic tour of some of the back country north of Greenbrier with the Kinders.
WA and Kaden survey the damage from a tornado. You can see some of the debris from a house in the canyon. A new home is being built on the lot where the devastated house once stood.
A view of the canyon just below the house above. More of the previous house can be seen to the right of the pic.
Millions of board feet of potential lumber left rotting on the ground by the storm.
Some views of Greers Ferry Lake from the ridge.
